So the media has been talking for weeks now about how the new Pope is faced will all sorts of issues, from sex scandals to reforming the Curia, the official offices of the Vatican. We all agree the sex scandals are atrocious and need continual attention to fix and avoid in the future! But what is the deal with the corruption in the Vatican?

Like bishops, each pope has a coat of arms and a motto. Benedict XVI’s motto was “Co-laborers in Truth,” Bl. John Paul II’s was “Totally Yours.” Pope Francis’ motto is Miserando atque Eligendo, “Lowly but Chosen.”
