Why a FOCUS blog?![]() Today, we are excited to announce that FOCUS is launching a new blog for its entire organization. I wanted to kick off the blog by explaining why we are starting this blog and how you can help. 3 reasons to start the new FOCUS blog 1.Blogs are personal and relational FOCUS prides itself on being relational in its mission. Friendships are at the heart of our work with college students. Rather than formal news stories or articles, blogs lend themselves to sharing of personal stories and experiences. Our hope is that this blog will give you an up-close look at our work through the eyes of our students, missionaries and staff. We want our mission to be seen not just through facts and vision (although these are important) but through names, faces, and places. Through this medium, we desire to capture living, breathing examples of those living out the gospel through the mission of FOCUS.
As FOCUS continues to grow each year, we’re also expanding our reach in how we’re reaching college students. Initiatives like Varsity Catholic, FOCUS Greek, FOCUS Equip, FOCUS Missions, and our Alumni department are finding different ways to reach college students and young adults to make an impact. The blog is a chance for you to hear from individuals involved in all of these initiatives. You will also hear from missionaries and team directors in the field along with popular speakers from FOCUS Conferences and Summits.
The beauty of the internet is that we not only communicate with you, but that you can communicate with us and with one another. The blog is a great pathway to hear what you are thinking about, speaking up about, talking about, and living out. Most blog posts will end with a question. Join the conversation and let your voice be heard. We want the blog to be a place not where all the answers are, but where people wrestle with the issues and questions of our day. Plus, there is a spot on the blog home page for you to submit your own post. Also, use the comments section below to let us know what you want to hear about on the blog.
1.Subscribe to the blog A great way to keep up with the blog is by subscribing. Go to the blog home page and click on “Subscribe to us” and check out the options for subscribing.
Whenever you see a post you like, share it on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, email, telegraph, Pony Express, snail mail, or word of mouth (I’m serious about the last one). This helps us increase awareness and the conversation. As we launch the blog, it would be awesome if you could help us spread the word. Thank you for reading and engaging us in this conversation. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
