Where I serve

Upon completing my two years at the University of Oregon, I recognize the many blessings God poured into my life during my time there. Strong roots have been established at Oregon the last two years and I am excited to hear about the continued growth in the Newman community there. I am excited to continue with FOCUS at the University of California Irvine this coming fall with my fiancé, and soon to be husband! Through our time in FOCUS, we have seen our student’s hearts transform to God’s heart, and have seen a visible reality of the impact of our “yes”. Through our daily choice of choosing God over self, we are able to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ in the world. It was a heck of a two years in the Pacific Northwest and is a gift to be moving back to my birth place and serve on mission there.

I am excited to announce our FOCUS team at the University of California Irvine this coming year! David, my fiancé, will be the team director. David served with FOCUS for two years at Arizona State University, and one year at Eastern Washington University. We are excited to serve the Lord on mission together and be on the same team. Ameerah is a second year missionary who is returning to UCI this coming fall and will be a blessing to have show us the ropes of FOCUS at Irvine! Mike is a first year missionary who just graduated from the University of Oregon. What a gift it is to have another Oregon Duck on my team! I am inspired by each of their zeal to share the gospel with all those they meet and am looking forward to this next year with my team!

My Story

As a missionary, my greatest desire is to lead all students to Christ. I encountered the Lord in a beautiful way on my mission trip during my junior year of college.  I encountered the person of Christ through the Nicaraguan families and was drawn to their joy, innocence, and simplicity.  I recognized the need for true encounter on college campuses, specifically in the greek system.  I loved my sorority.  I didn't want to give it up to follow Christ.  The Lord showed me that I didn't have to give it up and met me within the Greek system.  His love radiated for the women in my house.  He desired for His light to shine within my sorority.  Jesus revealed my calling to be a FOCUS missionary my junior year of college.  Although many fears came with my yes, I knew I couldn't deny other young women the same gift that other FOCUS missionaries had given me. The light of Christ.

I want nothing more than to bring this joy to others and introduce them to the life-changing message of the Gospel. In His ministry on earth, Jesus humbled Himself to meet us on our level, taking on our humanity, and spent most of His time investing deeply in a few. I look to Jesus’ own example to find the best method of reaching the world.

Your Impact

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I've been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I'd be honored to share this mission with you.
