Where I serve

I am very excited to begin my 3rd year of mission as Team Director at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Over the past two years, I have been able to lead students and student-athletes in prayer, bible study, and discipleship. It has been so inspiring to see first hand how much God is transforming the lives of college students in today's culture!

My Story

"Life begins at the end of your comfort zone."

--Neale Donald Walsch

As a former Varsity basketball player at Harvard University, I have always loved a challenge. Pushing myself to my limits both on and off the court was my comfort zone, whether it was the last set of Saturday morning conditioning, the adrenaline rush of 2 minutes left on the clock, or (nerd alert!) the difficulty of my classes.

Going to college I knew a lot about my Catholic faith, however, it was not until a FOCUS missionary challenged me to pray for 20 minutes every day that I fell in love with my faith. Through a faithfulness to prayer, I grew in relationship with Jesus Christ, realizing the joy of the gospel: even in this world of chaos and sin, Jesus has conquered death, inviting us to live a life of joy, happiness, and peace.   I said "yes". In saying yes to Christ, I said yes to love. My greatest desire is to share this love with others and have others experience the love of Christ.

As an athlete, it is comfortable to live a life of sin. In a search for fulfillment, most settle for less. Through my mission at USC, I have the opportunity to challenge athletes to pursue a life of greatness, not comfort. In my efforts, I look to Jesus' own example of ministry. He humbled Himself by taking on our humanity to live amongst us while deeply investing into the lives of a few, the 12 disciples. These disciples then went out evangelizing to the whole world. At USC, I meet with students where they are at, build up authentic Christ-centered relationships, and challenge them to grow in their faith, so, they can become the future leaders of faith in the New Evangelization and "make disciples of all nations." (Matthew 28:19)

Your Impact

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely entirely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners. I am so grateful for all the ways that God has provided for my needs on campus over the past 2 years. If you are inspired to join this mission in the New Evangelization to transform the culture of USC athletics and share the love of Christ through His Church, please join the team! Let me know of the best way to reach you and we can schedule an appointment. I would be honored to share this mission with you.
