"I sense that the moment has come to commit all of the Church's energies to a New Evangelization and to the mission. No believer in Christ, no institution of the Church can avoid this supreme duty: to proclaim Christ to all peoples" -Pope St. John Paul II
What is the New Evangelization? It is proclaiming Christ to a society that believes it has heard everything about the faith already and has rejected it. Religious vision is no longer at the heart of society, and many human truths are under attack. We must build a “civilization of love,” as Pope St. John Paul II calls it, by creating an environment for our faith to thrive.
I had great experiences at the University of Kentucky and Georgia College. This year, I will continue to work at the Denver Support Center assisting the Formation team with retreat planning for all of our campuses. Thank you for your continued support!
I got involved with FOCUS when I was a student at Auburn University. I
saw how the campus missionaries were reaching out to those who had
fallen away from the faith or were not interested in Catholicism, and
how they brought them into a relationship with Christ. FOCUS helped me
understand the need for mission and outreach to others who did not know
Christ. It gave me a great opportunity to grow in my faith and share it
with many others on campus.
FOCUS is an organization that is equipping college students for life-long Catholic mission and is doing important work for the future of the Church. Through Bible studies, mentoring, and outreach programs, FOCUS works to build strong Catholics for the future of our Church and our parishes.
I am looking forward to
being a part of Christ's Great Commission (Matthew 28:19) and the New
Evangelization in the Catholic Church through my work with FOCUS again this year. I invite you to join me in
answering this call by partnering through prayer and financial support.
All support will go directly to helping me work in this mission! Thank
you so much for your generosity and I will keep you in my prayers!
"Some give by going to the missions; others go by giving to the missions. Without both, there is no mission." -St. Therese of Lisieux
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on …
