Where I serve
I currently serve as a program director for the West area of our country at our Denver Support Center (DSC). But my previous two years have been spent on colleges campuses. My first year I served at Arizona State University (Go SunDevils!) and my second year as the Team Director at San Diego State University (Go Aztecs!) I LOVED my two years on campus but am so excited to serve now as a missionary to our on campus missionaries. This roll will allow me to use my two previous years on campus to anticipate the needs of missionaries serving in the West and how they can better serve our students.
My story is an interesting one, but in short, after growing up in a non-catholic household and understanding who God was and believing in him, I soon began to desire and understand more. I went to Texas State University and it was there while on a Catholic retreat I deeply encountered Christ in the Eucharist. There's a lot more to that story, but the hook-up and party culture I had been living in soon began to appeal less and less to me. It was very much a rollercoaster from that first encounter with Jesus and his Church to the moment I came in to Church in 2014. The beautiful thing about that rollercoaster were the people who walked and accompanied me along the way. At some point I landed in a FOCUS Missionaries' lap and knew there was something different about her. Her confidence in Jesus and her love of people was so attractive and something I was greatly desiring. After I came into the Church and began discipling women at Texas State and leading bible studies I knew this was something I felt called to do as a career.
After my first summer training with FOCUS I knew that the Lord wasn't only calling me to reach out to college women but also he desired to deeply change my heart as well. And that he did! The last two years have been then most transformative and formative. I've gone into the spiritual poverty on campus but also the physical poverty around the world. I've served on two forgiven mission trips to Mexico City & the Dominican Republic. Both in which I had students join me and watched their hearts be set aflame for Christ and his people.
Now that I have moved into a more administrative/ behind the scenes role, I understand the need for our mission EVEN MORE.
I'm so passionate about this mission the effect it's having on our college campuses and the CHURCH. SAINTS ARE BEING MADE. Praise Jesus!
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I've been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I'd be honored to share this mission with you.
