Where I serve

For the past five years, I attended the University of Kansas from which I successfully graduated with a degree in Secondary English Education! As a student missionary, I led my fellow Jayhawks in Bible studies, small men's groups, and outreach events. This year, however, the Lord has called me to become a full-time missionary for the Sooners at the University of Oklahoma! During my time at OU, I will be sharing life with students, making our way towards God, Whom all of our hearts yearn for.

My Story

When I was a college student, I found that the college campus was a battleground for my faith, my social life, and my ability to love well. Although I never fell away from the Church, I was not immune to the damaging effects that many of the temptations of college can have on one's faith. I found myself becoming lonelier and lonelier as I succumbed to various temptations. I blamed the Church for the majority of the guilt I was feeling, as well as my loneliness.

During the Summer of my Freshman year, I went on a mission trip with FOCUS. While there, I was struck by the faith of those who had so little, as well as the missionaries that led my trip. I had never seen such devout faith and love for the Eucharist by anybody, much less impoverished lay people or young college-aged missionaries! I fell in love with the Eucharist while on this trip, and when I returned from the mission trip, I fell in love with the Catholic Church--the home of the Blessed Sacrament. As time went on, I found myself surrounded by like-minded people who also yearned for intimacy with Jesus in the Eucharist. With this community of brothers and sisters to hold me accountable and chase after sainthood with me, I finally allowed Jesus to pull me out of the hole I had dug for myself.

As a missionary, my greatest desire is to lead all students to Christ. My life has been transformed by Jesus and I want nothing more than to bring this joy to others and introduce them to the life-changing message of the Gospel. In His ministry on earth, Jesus humbled Himself to meet us on our level, taking on our humanity, and spent most of His time investing deeply in a few. I look to Jesus’ own example to find the best method of reaching the world. I've been constantly amazed by the different souls I've encountered on campus.

Your Impact

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. Not only do mission partners allow me to be completely free to serve students full-time, but mission partners also allow me to expand my ministry by having as many people investing in FOCUS's mission as possible! As St. Paul puts it in his letter to the Philippians, "You are all partakers with me of grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel. " If you are interested in partnering with me in this mission, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I'd be honored to share this mission with you.
