Where I serve

I have answered the call from our Lord to "make disciples of all nations" as a full-time missionary at Georgia Souther University. By being radically available to college students and investing time in them I hope to invite them into a growing relationship with Christ Jesus and His Church. This isn't an easy relationship to enter into, but by inspiring and equipping them for Christ centered evangelization, discipleship, and friendship, the students I share my life with are then launched into lifelong Catholic mission.

My Story

I was born in Luanda, Angola and moved to Houston, TX when I was 4 years old. By the grace of God I was born into a Catholic family, and my five siblings and I were taught the importance of prayer. However, no family is perfect, and when this routine of prayer began to bore me in my early teenage year a new routine of worldly living began to take root as I sought to numb the pain from those imperfections.

I was distant from the Lord and going through the motions of my faith as I sought to fill the God-sized-whole in my heart with worldly things. This was actually crucial for me because although I was trapped in sin, going through the motions actually allowed God's grace to continue to work in my life. The night that changed everything for me was a cold, January, Saturday night where in the midst of shame and humiliation I heard the voice of God speak saying, "This is not what I made you for".

I later encountered Jesus Christ on a retreat called Kairos during Eucharistic Adoration. From then on it took 2 years, a handful of amazing retreat experiences, and a lot of investment Focus missionaries for me to turn to Christ and away from my worldly lifestyle. It was Seek 2013 where I was initially convicted by our Lord to be His missionary disciple. Apathy, selfishness, and sin all had a grip on my life, and I know the struggle that men suffer when trying to cut those ties. However, Christ penetrated through the darkness in my life with the light of the Gospel so that He could guide me back to the cross. All I hope to do now is bring this joyous message to the men at Georgia Southern and beyond.

Your Impact

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of others to help me through this mission. Being a missionary in the first world means we have first world needs, but I've been blessed with zealous partners in this mission who have journeyed with me and allowed me to be radically available to serve on campus. I'm truly honored to have them on my support team. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I'd love to share this mission with you.
