Where I serve

When we hear the word "missionary" we immediately think of someone serving the physical poverty of those over seas in a third world country. However, there is a different type of poverty happening in our own country: spiritual poverty. God has called our family to serve those who are perhaps in the worst spiritual poverty, and need the most help. College campuses are the perfect place to help young adults because it is at this stage in life when they begin developing their own ideas, and growing in independence. This year we are going back to serve at the University of Mary in Bismarck North Dakota. We are overjoyed to go back and work with the same students for another year!

My Story

Maddie and I went to the University of Mary in Bismarck North Dakota. I graduated in the spring of 2015, with a degree in Exercise Science and Maddie graduated this last spring with a degree in Catholic Studies. We received the call to become focus missionaries during the last month of my senior year. As graduation approached, so did my decision for the next year. I was already accepted into physical therapy school when God called us to fulfill His great commission in another way: by committing ourselves full-time to evangelizing on the college campus. After our first year we are ready to serve another year at UMary, this time juggling the parenthood as well! Karol Steven Dinkel entered our lives on the 24th of May. He has been an incredible blessing to us, and we are excited to serve him as well as the students this year.

Your Impact

When we answered the call to Focus, we also said yes to financial and spiritual support through our mission support team. Your involvement in the mission is crucial, and our encounter with souls relies on your gift of prayer and monthly support. These souls on college campuses are thirsting for Christ. Will you answer the call to help quench that thirst?
