Where I serve

This is my fourth year as a FOCUS missionary, and I am so happy to be serving as the Team Director at the University of California in Berkeley. Berkeley was recently ranked as the number one public university in the country, and it is amazing to think of the impact that could be made on our culture if these students began living in a courageously Christian way.

My Story

Like many young people who are raised Catholic, I wandered away from the faith during college and completely stopped practicing. I got swept up in the self-absorbed academic and party cultures on my campus, and I no longer wanted to be held back by what I saw as an antiquated religion. I lived like this for half of college, and found that my lifestyle was leaving me lonely and unfulfilled. I was thirsting for genuine truth, beauty, and goodness, and I wasn't finding it in the world of self-gratification and materialism that was surrounding me. I decided to give my faith another try, this time asking questions and seeking to take ownership of it in an authentic way. I encountered FOCUS missionaries on my campus, and I was immediately impressed by their warmth and authenticity. They seemed to be alive with genuine joy, and they made it clear that the source of their contentment was a relationship with Jesus Christ. My friendship with these missionaries helped me to have a deep encounter with Christ; I began attending Bible study and praying regularly, and it wasn't long before I was inviting my other friends to do the same.

Because I met FOCUS missionaries in college, I experienced a deep conversion and renewed desire for my Catholic faith. The witness of their joy and their availability to me had a profound impact on my life and the direction it was heading. It is now my joy to encounter college students as a missionary and to engage them in a similar way.

Your Impact

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I've been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I'd be honored to share this mission with you.
