Where I serve

Hi, I’m Kami! I’m a Regional Director for the West Area of FOCUS. I spend my time coaching, leading, and investing in Team Directors serving in the Pacific Northwest, Colorado Springs, Grand Junction, and New Mexico! I served 5 years on campuses in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and California before moving to the Denver Support Center. This is my 7th year as a missionary and 2nd as a Regional Director. I have a pretty cool story about how Jesus has changed my life and I’d love to share it with you!

My Story

I was blessed to grow up in a Catholic home but became extremely lukewarm in my faith when I left to attend George Mason University. Through the amazing campus ministry, I came to believe that the Catholic Church is the one true Church and I was confirmed my sophomore year. By my senior year, I was convicted that God was calling me to become a FOCUS missionary and enter into the incredible adventure that is full time evangelization and divine intimacy with Christ Jesus.

Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life; and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God. – John 6:68-69

As a missionary, my greatest desire is for Jesus to make me into a Saint and lead countless souls to Himself through me. Our culture today encourages us to turn in on ourselves and seek temporal pleasures that leave us empty but God calls us to be transformed into Him and make disciples of all nations all by the power of the Holy Spirit!! FOCUS missionaries and student leaders greatly impacted my life by following Jesus’ example. In His ministry on earth, Jesus humbled Himself to meet us on our level, taking on our humanity, and spent most of His time investing deeply in a few and having radical encounters with many. I hope to imitate Him daily and be a witness to those in universities, parishes, coffee shops.. everywhere!

After two years serving as a campus missionary at the University of Pittsburgh, I spent two years at the US Coast Guard Academy (Connecticut) as the Team Director. Then Jesus lead me across the country to serve as the Team Director at the University of Southern California! This servant leadership position allowed me to invest deeply in my teammates as Jesus did with his disciples. I was blessed to share life with them through intercessory prayer, intentional coaching, and strove to model joyful sacrifice. At the end are a few snapshots of my 5 years as a campus missionary & Team Director!
