Where I serve
I served two years at the University of Maryland, one year at Towson University, and now I am heading up North to the United States Coast Guard Academy! I love going on mission trips, playing frisbee, jamming on the ukulele, getting coffee, or watching a good movie with students. Alongside that friendship I love sharing the Gospel and leading Bible studies that allow God to come into the hearts of these students and to be spread across campus!
I grew up not having a faith or religion to call my own. Coming into college I gained speed with the wrong crowd, until one day when a high school friend invited me to Mass. That one Mass showed me the power of God's love and launched me to pursue Him. I went through RCIA my sophomore year of college at George Mason University and on April 7, 2012 received three sacraments of initiation. Throughout that time I attended a Bible study by a student who later went on to become a FOCUS missionary.
I myself began to lead a Bible study and gained a lot of formation in the Catholic community at George Mason. I learned a lot through discipleship, Bible studies, and Christ-centered friendships. My life had a new meaning, a new purpose. Soon, I found my call to serve God in a more radical way. I joined FOCUS staff and I am so happy to be living Gods call as a fourth year missionary, now serving as a Team Director!
"Nothing is far from God." -St. Monica (mother of St. Augustine)
Serving on campus is made possible with the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. Blessed Mother Teresa said "Some people give by going, others go by giving." I have been so blessed to have journeyed with me. If you are interested in joining me on mission, let me know the best way to contact you and we will set up and appointment to meet!
"So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us." - 1 Thessalonians 2:8 (RSV)
