Where I serve

I currently serve as Music and Worship Program Manager which is a national staff position operating out of the FOCUS Denver Support Center.   Our goal is to serve as the 'supply line' to our missionaries on campus.

Specifically, I am spearheading a new "Beauty Initiative within FOCUS" to explore how our missionaries can incorporate beauty in evangelization to inspire people to know Jesus Christ, Who is the source of all beauty.  We hope to model and encourage creativity in all its forms. By embracing the God-given talents entrusted to us, we come more fully alive in Jesus Christ, and by His grace we are empowered to live a life full of joy, meaning, purpose and freedom.  Living in this freedom, the Christian is enabled to offer a radiant and beautiful witness in the world confirming that nothing compares to a life set on fire by the love of God.  Check out more of the story at https://www.focus.org/what-we-do/beauty.

My Story

Originally from Rapid City, South Dakota, I moved out east in 2005 to attend the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. In the spring of 2009, I graduated with my undergraduate degree in violin performance along with minors in theology and philosophy.

In college, I never thought that I would be a first world missionary. I always dreamed of living in a third world country, serving our brothers and sisters suffering from physical need. But as I looked further into FOCUS, I realized that I wanted to be His missionary within the circumstances that the Lord had given me. I saw how I personally struggled to see my true identity in Him, and how I personally experienced the many worldly temptations that strove to suffocate my deepest desire for the Lord.  Understanding this reality led me to say 'yes' to serving as a FOCUS missionary, bringing the light of Christ to the college campus that is in desperate need of His hope and love.

Currently, I am serving my 8th year with the FOCUS apostolate.  During my first two years as a missionary, I served at Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg, Maryland. I then moved to NYC to serve as team director at our very first ivy league school, Columbia University. After serving two years in the Big Apple, I decided to take a position in Denver, Colorado with our International Missions Team where I was in charge of coordinating spring break and summer international mission trips for our students and missionaries on campus (http://focusmissions.org). I am currently utilizing my degree as I serve as Program Manager for the new 'Beauty Initiative' within FOCUS. Check out our first project at http://www.focus.org/origin/.

Thank you for taking the time to view my page. I cannot wait to share more with you as I continue on the journey, serving as His missionary. Please consider joining my Mission Support Team so that together, we can bear witness to the only Love that satisfies - Jesus Christ.
