Where I serve

God has called me to serve college students. Currently I am Junior hire with FOCUS. What does that mean? I was one of a few missionaries that got hired during their Junior year of college. I will go back to St. John's University to finish my last season of football, last year of school, and will continue to lead football team Bible studies and work alongside the FOCUS missionaries on our campus.

My Story

I was baptized and welcomed into the Catholic Church within the first few months of being born. I grew up receiving the sacraments throughout Catholic grade school and would continue to do so every now in then in my Catholic high school.  I knew who Jesus was and that He died for all of us on the cross, however, my knowledge stopped there. I knew nothing compared to the knowledge I have now and hope to have as I continue to seek truth and grow in my faith with my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus.

Prior to meeting Dan Tracy (a FOCUS missionary), I was your typical falling away Catholic college student. The Mass was all I knew, yet I would only go every other week. I met Dan when he began our football team Bible study in the Fall of my Sophomore year. After a few weeks, I was so in love with the Word that I wanted to know more so that I can share God with others. As a FOCUS missionary, I am blessed to have had Dan in my life then and now and look forward to saying "Yes" to whatever God is calling of me in my future as I strive for holiness and virtue and invite others alongside of me in this journey of faith. During my Junior year of college, I led a football team Bible study that had a total of 23 football players show up at least once to a Bible study, while having at least 10 on a consistent basis every week. Together we prayed, shared life stories, and grew in our knowledge of the Catholic faith. We held each other accountable by learning how to love and serve others and checking in on a weekly basis on how prayer life is going. I had the privilege to ask two student-athletes into disciple ship with me, one basketball player and one football player.

Seeing them grow has been what I am most proud of because I have seen how happy they both have become by deepening their understanding of why they believe what they believe. I have been able to witness what God can do with me when He uses me as His instrument for one person at a time, investing in a few, while sending them out to invest in others. I fell in love with this way of sharing the Gospel because this is exactly what Jesus did, He invested in 12 and they went out and shared the Gospel with the world. I fell in love with the vision of FOCUS and their ministry in reaching college students and inviting them into an authentic friendship with Jesus Christ. God was calling on me to do what Dan had done for me years ago, to be the face of Christ for others. As a FOCUS missionary, I hope I can continue to do the same work that I began when I started leading Bible studies for my football team and walking in discipleship with two student-athletes, Ben Bartch and Neal Anderson.

Your Impact

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. If you are interested in partnering with me to help me be fully available for students, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I'd be honored to share this mission with you.
