I'M DOWN ON THE BAYOU!! I have been called to serve at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana. It's been such a blessing to be able to serve the students and this campus as a FOCUS missionary. I am loving the cajun culture (and cuisine). GEAUX COLONELS!
As a missionary, my greatest desire is to be able to love students and lead them to Jesus. My life has been transformed by my relationship with Christ and I want nothing more than to bring this joy to others and introduce them to the life-changing message of the Gospel. As a student who had left my faith at home in college, I had fallen so far into the "darkness" that is associated with the college culture. I was alone, depressed, broken, and hopeless. I thought what I was doing and how I was feeling was normal and that there was no way out. It wasn't until a friend reached out to me and introduced me to the community at the Catholic Student Center on campus that my life started taking a turn for the better. I started going to a FOCUS bible study, entered into discipleship with FOCUS, and attended their nation-wide Catholic conference where I encountered the Holy Spirit in a very real way. At that moment, while kneeling before Jesus and 10,000 Catholic college students, I knew that things were going to change forever. Had no one reached out and noticed me in my time of darkness, I may have never found my way back to the faith and back to Jesus. Since returning to the Church, I've been constantly amazed by the different souls I've encountered on campus and have been overwhelmed by the opportunities the Lord has given me to serve.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I've been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know the best way to reach you. I would love to schedule an appointment to speak with you more about FOCUS and our mission on college campuses. Thank you for your support and your prayers. It's an honor to share this mission with you.
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on …
