FOCUS Missions - Field Staff
FOCUS Missions - Field Staff
Originally from a small mountain town in northern Arizona, I began my first year of mission work at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado in 2014. There I learned the foundation and beginning tools for what it meant to be a college missionary. In the summer after my first year, I participated on a medical mission with FOCUS where we were able to provide both physical and spiritual healing in the Philippines. My second year I served in the city of angels at the University of California, Los Angeles. This past year, I served as the team director for a brand new campus with FOCUS at University of Oregon and experienced authentic fellowship and deeper conversion of heart.
I have joined the Missions department to enable students to encounter Christ and make Him known through there efforts on the ground in different countries. With my unique role I will be able to be on-the-ground support for mission trips traveling to South America in the spring and summer.
In college, studying nursing, faith was deserted to pursue what I believed would bring personal happiness. This led to superficial friendships, decreased motivation to pursue passions and a weakened moral sense. A personal invitation to a FOCUS conference named SEEK in 2013 allowed God to reveal that He wanted to provide the greatest joy found in life. By pursuing faith and seeing how the Lord wanted to walk next to me in my life I have been able to create strong friendships with those that push me to be a better person, grown in passion to enjoy each moment to the fullest and have rediscovered who I am through the love of God. The Lord desires to grow in relationship with each of us and I experience a continual transformation that I wish to share with students on campus.
The Lord has proven through my experiences of nursing and faith that sharing the Gospel is needed more than ever, especially in the college-aged. I cannot tell you how EXCITED I am to be joining the Missions team, sharing in fellowship with teams on-the-ground in Peru! Our job as missionaries is not to be the change created in students’ lives for Christ, rather the opportunity for Christ to be known and transform lives through the relationship we form with them. The Lord truly wants to be a part of your life, my life, everyone’s life! Join me this year in making it the best yet!
This has only been made possible by the generosity of family and friends that have allowed me to be on campus through their support. Prayerfully consider joining me financially on this journey to change the college culture.
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on …
