Where I serve
Beginning my second year with FOCUS, I will be returning to New York and continuing to work at the campus of the United States Military Academy at West Point! After a powerful first year, it will be a great blessing to return to the same school and the same body of students. The past year has allowed our team to establish a strong community on campus, and to develop many close relationships with the cadets -- relationships I am excited to build upon in the coming school year. Both of my female teammates will also be returning to West Point - Jess Laurenzano (team director) and Claire Whitehead - along with our new team member Eli Kresta.
During my junior and senior years of college,
my faith matured from the faith of my family into a faith of my own as I encountered the person of Jesus Christ in the form of several people who would become my dearest friends. Through their friendship and genuine sharing of faith I was able to realize that my purpose comes from my relationship with our Lord, and that He wants nothing more than for each of us to return the love that He offers so freely. My life was changed forever by the friendship and witness of these people, and I soon found myself deeply convicted that I was being called to go and share of myself in the same way -- imitating them as they were imitating Christ. As I pursued this call, I was introduced to FOCUS and found that it would provide the perfect opportunity for me to go and serve alongside other young adults who are passionately carrying the joy of the Gospel to college students across the country. At the end of my first year on staff, I am convicted more and more each day that our Lord has an incredible plan for the revitalization of the Church in our country and around the world, and that this is the best place I can be to help make that plan a reality.
While I know that God has called me to serve Him in this mission, I also know that I am only a small piece of the greater puzzle. Taking on the call to be a FOCUS missionary means giving completely of my time and talents to the students on campus. This giving of time necessitates that I have a team of supporters on board with the mission who want to go with me by giving support - both spiritual and financial. It has been a huge blessing to share this mission with my supporters, and to receive their great generosity. I am deeply honored by each of you, and would love to talk to anyone interested in joining our team! I can be contacted anytime by email or by phone at [email protected] or (304) 481-7810.
