Where I serve

I have the wonderful opportunity to serve Jesus as a missionary at Louisiana State University (LSU)!  Geaux Tigers!!

My Story

My journey with FOCUS began at Auburn University, where I majored in Exercise Science and had every intention of going to Physical Therapy school following graduation. Oh how often and how funny it is when the Lord's plan for me is not the same as my own! I am beyond blessed to have this opportunity to serve Jesus and spread the Gospel to college students.

At Auburn, I was surrounded by good and faithful Christians. It seemed that they were easy to find in this southern section of the bible belt, and I know this was an incredible gift from God since that is rarely the case in college.  One friend in particular really inspired me to be the daughter of the Father that I was made to be - and that was my Big sister in my sorority, Catherine.  She was honestly the first faithful Catholic that I had ever met around my age and the first one to share the gospel with me!  Truly it was divine providence that allowed her to be my Big.  As we grew in friendship, Catherine began asking me to college church events, retreats, and bible studies.  She also took me to Adoration (for my first time ever!!) and introduced me to the beauty and love contained in the sacraments of the Church - which I had always treated as a checklist of things I should do to be considered a good person.   Fast-forward to sophomore year, Catherine invited me to a lovely FOCUS conference called SEEK. What a fitting name for the conference and an accurate description of the state of my heart! At this conference I finally understood the power and gravity of Jesus' life - that he humbled himself and in his divinity became human for me.  Not only did he become human, but he suffered in every way so that I could have a restored relationship with the eternal God.

This news is too good to not share. This news is not just for the missionaries, the priests and pastors, the religious communities, and everyone in the bible belt.   This truth is true for YOU and everyone around you (and those far from you!).  It is my hope and prayer that more people will come to know that the Lord is constantly reaching out his hand to each of us and is eagerly waiting for us to look His way, grab His hand, and walk with Him.  Our God is a loving, merciful, and patient God, and it is never to late to open your heart to Him.

If you get nothing else out of this somewhat-lengthy post, know that you were made for more than this world gives you, and that you are made for a relationship with Jesus Christ.  And I am stoked about it.

Baton Rouge I am coming for ya!!

(Me and Catherine at New Staff Training this summer - I totally copied her in becoming a missionary)

Your Impact

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. It is truly LIFE GIVING to me each time I have the honor of gaining another mission partner, and I know that in a way I am extending my own family through support raising.  Without monthly supporters and prayer warriors, I could not be as fruitful in this ministry.  If you are interested in hearing more about my journey at LSU and becoming a mission partner, please do not hesitate to call me (205-937-5260) or email me ([email protected]). I would love to get to know you and hear your story!
