An enthusiastic convert to the Catholic Church, Shelly has served the church in many different capacities. Shelly is a parishioner at St. Vincent de Paul in Denver and represented her parish as co-chair of the Archdiocese’s New Harvest Campaign which provided necessary funds for the capital and endowment needs of the Denver Seminaries. She served as a member of the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council and spent several years working on gala and event committees for ENDOW, Catholic Charities and other ministries.
Her greatest joy in community service came with her work at Lighthouse Women’s Center (now known as Marisol Health – Denver) as a volunteer counselor from 2012 to 2015. Shelly’s experiences have given her a very deep sense of appreciation for how Catholic Charities compassionately reaches out and provides hope to those in our community who are in need. She was appointed to the Catholic Charities Board of Directors in 2014 and served until 2017, when her passion translated into a position as Director of Events, organizing and managing events which advance the mission of Catholic Charities in serving the poor and marginalized.
Shelly and her husband, Craig, are members of two national organizations The Papal Foundation and Legatus. Recently, Shelly was recognized by Legatus Denver as the 2019 Ambassador of the Year. Her home life is equally busy. In addition to being the proud wife of Craig, she is a devoted mother of five grown children (four daughters and a son) and “Gaga” to two precious granddaughters and three very active grandsons.
