This is now my 8th year with FOCUS!  After 4 years of serving as an on-campus missionary at Northwestern State University and the University of Memphis, God has called me on to other adventure with the FOCUS Lifelong Mission Team. The Lifelong Mission Team includes Alumni engagement and Parish outreach. The Alumni team serves more than 60,000 former missionaries and former students as they enter their next phase of life.  The Parish team has missionaries in over 20 locations to support missionary discipleship alongside pastors. FOCUS has always been about building up life long Catholic missionary disciples, and that’s exactly what this team gets to do!  We re visiting alumni, listening to what s working well in parish, and connecting disciples of Christ with each other to be on mission together. 

When I arrived my freshmen year of college at Northwest Missouri State University, I was immediately faced with new found “freedom,” and the hard decisions of who I wanted to be. I thought I was living the college dream of partying all night, managing good grades, and finding the it crowd through Greek Life.  Looking back now, I can clearly see the ways I was searching for something more and the void I was trying to fill.

While at a Sunday Mass my junior year, I met the FOCUS missionaries that had just arrived on campus.  Through their love, prayers, and much patience, I found myself joining them and 10,000 other college students at a conference over Christmas break called SEEK.  There I met Jesus face-to-face in the Eucharist during adoration, and heard so clearly His love for me.  After that, I knew everything in my life had to change in order to follow Christ.
