God has called me to serve the students at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana! I have been specifically called to reach out to the men in Greek life at NSU. I am here to meet them wherever they’re at and share the love of Jesus Christ with them.

I grew up in a loving Catholic family but never fully took the faith into my own hands. During my time at the University of North Texas, I encountered Jesus in a way I hadn’t ever before, and my life hasn’t been the same since!

Upon coming into college my freshman year, I joined a fraternity and found a sense of belonging with the guys there. My time in the fraternity was valuable and I made some friendships that will last a lifetime. However, as I became more entangled in the greek-life party culture, I felt an emptiness. The things that the world said would make me fulfilled in college actually came up short — the party scene, the girl, high GPA, being esteemed by my peers. Sadly, amidst having all of these things, I was Catholic by title only during this time and God was not a central part of my life.

You have made us for Yourself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it rests in You.   – St. Augustine 

The above quote summarizes well what I experienced during my freshman year in college. I was thirsting for God but didn’t know it.

Through a FOCUS missionary named Conrad, God drew me out of this life so focused on lesser goods and ultimately to Himself, the greatest Good. Conrad pursued me in friendship and eventually invited me to a conference FOCUS was having over winter break. Through the radiant joy of thousands of college students on fire for God, I was so captivated that I wanted to have what they had.

Coming back from the conference, Conrad presented me with an invitation to make Jesus the center of my life. God had prepared my heart to say yes to this invitation by allowing me to experience a spiritual poverty in the fall semester and then by showing me the fullness of life with Him through the joy of the students at that conference. Conrad walked with me as I began to take responsibility for my relationship with God, and my life hasn’t been the same since. God is continually drawing me deeper into His love and showing me more fully who He is and who I am in His eyes.

Now I have the blessing not only to be the friend and role model Conrad was for me for college students, but to share an alternative to the emptiness the world offers and invite people into a relationship with Jesus Christ.

As a FOCUS missionary, I am blessed to have people join me in Christ’s mission through their prayers and financial support. It has been a gift to invite others to partner with me and share the ways God is using FOCUS to change the world.

Some give by going on mission, others go by giving to the mission. Both are needed to reach the world for Christ!
