Trust in Him.
Trust in Him.
This is my fourth year at Michigan Technological University – a public research university and home to more than 7,000 undergraduate and around 2,000 graduate students –where I serve the graduate student population. My husband, Thomas, daughter, Lucy, and I have made our home here in the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan!
A simple desire for communion with God in prayer changed my life. My senior year of high school, I came to know only a fraction of His love for me during a time of prayer, and it left me wanting to know His love more.
My freshman year of college passed with attempts to commit to daily prayer. Sophomore year came along, and FOCUS missionaries came to my campus, Central Michigan University, for the first time ever. Amy Pica, one of the FOCUS missionaries, and I built a friendship. Our friendship was rooted in our love for Christ. My prayer life and intimacy with the Lord began to blossom as Amy taught me how to pray routinely, making a daily commitment to the Lord. She taught me the tools I needed to begin a bible study of my own. The Lord prompted me through Amy to invite my friends into a discovery of who Jesus is and His Love for them. I began to allow myself to be more confident in the Lord, trusting that He would give me the graces I needed to be vulnerable with the women He placed in my life to evangelize. Christ continues to call me deeper and deeper-- to give more of myself and to make Him the center of everything in my life.
The Holy Spirit continued to work on my heart my junior year of college, prompting me to give up the career plans I had and opening me up to what His Will was. Ever so lovingly, the Holy Spirit has been revealing to me these past few years that I desire and was created to have an eternal effect, not just a temporal, or earthly effect, on the world through my career.
Being called to be His missionary, Christ has shown me that His love cannot be measured and that the treasure I have found in Him and His Church is of infinite value; I desire for the graduate students here at Michigan Tech to unearth this treasure and to live in the Love that God eternally gives to them.
I have been serving Jesus and introducing Him to the men and women of Michigan Technological University for the past three years. Now, going into my fourth year on staff, I am excited to continue this mission. If you would like to support my mission, please wrap it in prayer; your intercession fills the most crucial need as you participate in the work of the Body of Christ. If the Lord is calling you to join my mission through your financial support, thank you in advance for showing my family the Lord's blessing, generosity, and desire for this mission through you! If you have any questions about my mission, please do not hestitate to reach me at [email protected].
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on …
