Where I serve

I am so excited to be returning for my second year at Eastern Michigan University  in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Go Eagles! Swoop Swoop!

My Story

As a missionary, my greatest desire is for each person to know and have a relationship with Christ. I especially reach out to women on the college campus. There is true spiritual poverty on the college campus, and I have seen it from my own experience in college as well as in my time as a missionary. Men and women struggle in knowing their own identity, dignity, worth and love from God the Father. I have witnessed the hurt in these students' lives as they struggle with the party culture, unhealthy relationships, depression, anxiety, this need for perfection and worldly success. As Christians, we know the transforming power of the truth of Jesus Christ and each student deserves to know it. These students are the ones entering the work force, starting families, joining parishes and overall contributing to society. I want to be on the front lines of this battle for souls, fighting for our future leaders by bringing them to Christ Jesus. My own life has been deeply transformed by Jesus and I desire nothing more than to bring this joy to others and introduce them to the life-changing message of the Gospel.

Five years ago, I walked onto campus with great confusion about my identity and where I was supposed to fit in the world. My first full semester I experienced shock after shock as I realized that people my age could actually have a strong faith life, and they experienced so much peace and joy! As my involvement at the Newman center grew, I was asked into discipleship from another student missionary. I took it to prayer and the Lord responded with this verse:

"I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples." (John 15: 5, 8)

I asked God what he wanted me to do, and he very clearly told me that I needed to make disciples. He chose me to be his missionary. Little did I know that my freshman prayer determined my plans after college.

Throughout the next three years I deepened my faith through daily prayer, frequent sacraments and spiritual readings. My fervor for evangelism grew as I started bible studies, invested in other student leaders and started a Women's Ministry Group on campus. I not only discovered so much about my own identity as a beloved daughter of Christ, but I had the beautiful opportunity to walk with many other women on their journey in finding their identity in Christ. The good Lord had called me to be His missionary when I was a freshman and He is calling me now to continue serving him on college campuses through FOCUS.

Your Impact

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I've been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I'd be honored to share this mission with you. Feel free to email me at [email protected] for any questions.
