Where I serve

I began my FOCUS journey in the east region beginning with serving at New York University for two years. I then was called to serve at Brown University as Team Director this past year. This 2019-2020 school year brings another transition as I will be accepting the role of Team Director at the University of Pennsylvania.

I am beyond excited for this new adventure to Philadelphia, PA and to meet the students of Penn. The university serves over 10,000 undergraduate students and it's known to have the oldest Newman Catholic Community in the country.

I'll be working alongside with three other missionaries pictured below. From left to right we have Emily (1st year), Jonathan (2nd year), Joe (2nd year), and myself. Please keep us in your prayers this year!

My Story

As a missionary, my greatest desire is for all students to have a personal encounter with Jesus Christ and to know His abundant love and mercy.

Growing up Catholic, I became very familiar with the practices of the church, but I struggled to understand the "whys" behind what we do. My faith felt more like a hobby and a to-do list of items to check off rather than something meaningful.

It was when I went to college and joined our University Catholic group that my faith was transformed. I met a FOCUS missionary who asked me into a discipleship relationship where she then invested herself into helping me grow in a relationship with the Lord. She taught me how to pray with the scriptures (Lectio Divina) and it was with this consistent form of prayer, as well as our conversations, where I understood that the Lord was seeking to have a personal relationship with me.

Since entering into a personal relationship with Christ I've learned so much more about what it means to be Catholic. Now, I've come to know more of the rich history of the church and understand the meaning behind who we are. Instead of a strict check list, I see my faith as a source of freedom: freedom to love and be loved.  My faith is experiencing the unconditional love and mercy of God everyday, which ultimately is the foundation of the church. I am inspired to share my experiences with college students, that they may come to know the Lord and experience His abundant love and mercy He has for each of them.

Your Impact

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I've been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I'd be honored to share this mission with you!
