Bruno Ferrari

About Me

Born in Mexico, Bruno traveled abroad at a young age and spent most of his formative years in Europe. While completing his studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London, he encountered the transcendental beauty of God. Fascinated by this experience, which revealed the trifling nature of daily anxieties, Bruno went on to discern God’s Will through the silent simplicity of monastic life. Here, the words of St. John Paul II became clear: “Man cannot fully find himself except through a sincere gift of self”. Bruno is exited to serve as a 1st year missionary at Harvard. He enjoys running, hiking and dancing, but above all, he desires to come to understand alongside the students the meaning of the following words of Christ: “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

Where I serve

As a FOCUS Missionary at Harvard University, my role is to serve the students on campus through mentorship, Bible Studies, and outreach events.

Mentorship:

This semester I am mentoring 2 seniors, 1 sophomore and 4 freshmen guys. As a mentor I meet weekly with the students and work with them on their personal journey as well as equipping them to share their faith with others by leading their own Bible Studies and forming virtuous and Christ-centered friendships with their peers.

Bible Studies

Bible Studies are weekly groups of 4-7 students that meet to foster fellowship, discuss scripture, and to learn to incorporate  faith into everyday life on campus . This semester I am leading two studies and working with students in mentorship in order to lead a total of 9 studies and thus reach between 45-60 students at Harvard!

Outreach

Every week I spend time on campus meeting students at their athletic events, performances etc. I invite them to retreats, events that we host at our Catholic Student Center, or simply out for a meal!

My Story

1st step: listen

If you’re reading this…you decided to listen to someone. You set aside all preconceptions about that person and opened your ears, mind and heart to someone who wanted to share their personal story with you.

 2nd step: care

If you’re reading this…you didn’t just listen, but you genuinely cared enough to sacrifice your personal time to understand what the heck they were inviting you to be a part of.

 My Story

Many people listen and care, but what really transformed my life was someone who invited me to step out of my self and embark on a journey that was greater than my own personal ambitions to which I had become a slave like most college students. The thought that what made me lovable was to stand above my peers brought me unbelievable anxiety that was finally relieved when I recognized that I was loved not for what I did but for who I am. This unconditional love will heal anxiety, lower suicide rates and most importantly enable college students to “live life to the full.”

3rd step: journey together

If you’re reading this… you recognize that the journey doesn’t end with the first two steps. I have taken my third step by accepting the invitation to become a FOCUS Missionary. FOCUS has placed me at Harvard University, where I have the privilege of working with the bright minds that are shaping our world and culture. My role is to strive to truly listen and care, but above all to journey together with these college students towards the unconditional love of Christ and to enable them to do the same for their peers. I invite you to take the third step with me by donating through this page. It is specifically through your help, that I I will be able to continue to serve the students at Harvard University this year. Thank you for your generosity!

Your Impact

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I've been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I'd be honored to share this mission with you.
