I get to work with the students way out at San Diego State University! Our campus of more than 35,000 students ranks in the top 10 schools nationwide for racial and ethnic diversity, and I believe the Lord is tilling the soil there for myself and my fellow missionaries David, Aileen, and Jessica to come in and sow the Gospel to reap a bountiful harvest for Christ.
As someone who grew into a well-rooted and fruitful faith in college, I know the deep impact just one person who wants to share the love of Christ can make. I spent my freshman year at Grand Canyon as a lukewarm Christian with no real community. After I got involved at our Newman Center the next year, the Holy Spirit changed my entire approach to a life of faith and kindled within me a deep desire to help as many people as I can experience something similar. When I attended my first FOCUS conference over New Year's in my senior year, I was introduced to the world of Catholic college ministry and invited by our Lord to pursue a college-campus mission, and so I jumped in headfirst and have been so blessed to be involved with FOCUS ever since I gave the Holy Spirit my "yes" to this mission.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, God invited me to depend radically on Him for spiritual and financial support through mission partners. I've been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I'd be honored to share this mission with you! Together, by the grace of God, we can labor in His fields to bring Him glory (Matt. 8:35-38).
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on …
