God has called me to serve college students at The University of Wisconsin-Madison (GO BADGERS)! You’ll find me hanging out at St. Paul’s Student Center, playing sand volleyball, or teaching students about the art of coffee (and Jesus, of course!). Life with Christ has been an incredible journey and I cannot wait to share how He has encountered my heart. 

I came to The University of Iowa excited to take on the world with Jesus, but I kept Him at a distance. Freshman year, I found myself straying from Him as the college culture overwhelmed me. Finding myself incredibly unsatisfied with what the world had to offer, I was called higher by a FOCUS missionary. She reminded me of my identity as a beloved daughter of The Father, and that I am loved to the point of death on a cross. It was thrilling to be invited into an intimate relationship with Jesus. I formed habits of daily prayer, reading scripture, going to the sacraments, and receiving the Eucharist at daily mass. Jesus continued to encounter, heal, and love me in the beauty of The Church. Striving for holiness is not easy, but I have found abundant freedom and joy, surmounting anything that I could have ever imagined. 

I said yes to being a FOCUS missionary, because Jesus has asked me to share the truth of The Gospel with my sisters. The striking reality is that, approximately 80% of Catholics that leave The Church do so by the age of 23. Jesus lived life with His apostles, invested in the few, loved them, and taught them to do the same. He provides the perfect example for us to bring these souls back to His sacred heart. I am blessed to work for an organization that continues to look to Him as the true source and model of our apostolate. We are in a battle and heaven is worth fighting for! 

I am on mission full-time, which means that I have chosen to rely on the spiritual and financial support of monthly mission partners (something I never thought I would say – wow!).
