Where I serve

I was blessed to serve my first 3 years as a FOCUS Missionary at West Virginia University in Morgantown, but I am being called now to a new campus  – Ball State University in Indiana. Although I will miss the friendships I forged in the Mountain State, I am ready to become a missionary in the flatlands. Muncie is surrounded by agriculture and feels like home; I am excited to invite its students into deeper relationship with Jesus Christ through authentic friendship, daily scriptural and mental prayer, and the Sacraments of the Catholic Church. I have grown so much as a campus missionary already – drawing closer to the Lord through various trials, joys, and relationships –  and I look forward to inviting new students into this life-giving relationship. The most important decision they can make is not what clubs they join, who they date, or how many hours they study; it is the extent to which they allow Jesus into their lives. Just as Christ transformed my life in college, I know He has big plans for the students at Ball State University!

My Story

Upon enrolling in a university 15 times larger than my entire hometown, it was easy for me to lose my sense of identity as a freshman at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Four years later as a senior, however, there was no question as to where I belonged - I was rooted firmly in Christ. I never would have come to this peace and joy, however, without FOCUS.

At an age where most students must decide whether to engage their faith or abandon it, a friend who had recently accepted a position with FOCUS encouraged me to visit the Newman Center. It was there I encountered students authentically and joyfully living out the faith I had merely learned about for 12 years. I came to know the peace and joy of Christ through FOCUS Bible studies and discipleship, which inspired me to seek Him in the Sacraments, daily prayer, Sacred Scripture, fellowship, and mission. Determined to lead other university students to this same life-giving love, I said yes to becoming a FOCUS Missionary. I am excited to serve students and teammates alike in my fourth year on campus, as I embark on my third year as Team Director!

Your Impact

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission.  FOCUS Missionaries are responsible for fundraising 100% of their mission budgets in order to 1) live with a team of missionaries, 2) be radically available for Bible studies and discipleship, and 3) provide scholarships for retreats, mission trips, and conferences. I am excited to invite you into this mission and welcome the opportunity to further discuss my mission vision and financial goals with you.
