Where I serve

I am excited to be serving the students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign! When I'm not at the Newman Center, I love perusing the aisles of Target and sipping chai tea lattes.

My Story

As a missionary, my greatest desire is to lead all students to Christ. My life has been transformed by Jesus and I want nothing more than to bring this joy to others and introduce them to the life-changing message of the Gospel. In His ministry on earth, Jesus humbled Himself to meet us on our level, taking on our humanity, and spent most of His time investing deeply in a few. I look to Jesus’ own example to find the best method of reaching the world. I've been constantly amazed by the different souls I've encountered on campus.

I am a proud graduate from the University of Missouri - go Tigers! While I was in college, I became very involved at the Newman Center on campus. It was through my involvement in a Bible study and retreat team that I met a vibrant community of faith filled individuals who inspired me to take my relationship with Jesus more seriously. I was born and raised into a faithful Catholic family and knew a lot about Jesus and had encountered Him before, but it was a very polite relationship. I attended weekly mass with my family, said my nightly prayers and even spent time reading the Bible from time to time. But I still kept Jesus at a bit of a distance, not wanting to surrender every part of my life to Him.

However, it was through my leadership opportunities at the Newman Center and encouragement and accountability of my new friends that I began to spend more time in the chapel praying, attending daily mass and frequenting confession. The more time I spent in the chapel, the more time I wanted to spend in the chapel. Jesus slowly began to transform and purify every area of my life.

My junior year I attended SEEK2017, a FOCUS national conference in San Antonio, Texas. I was at this conference that I realized I was a truly a part of a universal Catholic Church. I was blown away to see 10,000 other college students embrace their faith and identity as a child of God. This realization lead me to becoming more involved with the FOCUS missionaries serving on campus at Mizzou and living out the mission of Jesus Christ, in which He invites us all to participate. Eventually I felt the Lord personally ask me to abandon my will to His and say 'yes' to serving as His missionary, and what a journey it has been!

Your Impact

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I've been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I'd be honored to share this mission with you.
