Hannah Naylor

Hey! My name’s Hannah Rose! I am serving as a fourth year missionary at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania!

All is gift.

Where I serve

God has called me to serve college students at Carnegie Mellon University! You’ll typically find me playing spikeball with students on campus, singing in the Newman Center choir, or taking students out for Pamela’s brunch!  I have a pretty cool story about how Jesus has changed my life and sent me to Carnegie Mellon as His missionary — I think you should hear it sometime! Come find me and I’d love to share it with you. 🙂

As a missionary, my greatest desire is to lead all students to Christ. My life has been transformed by Jesus and I want nothing more than to bring this joy to others and introduce them to the life-changing message of the Gospel. In His ministry on earth, Jesus humbled Himself to meet us on our level, taking on our humanity, and spent most of His time investing deeply in a few. I look to Jesus own example to find the best method of reaching the world. I’ve been constantly amazed by the different souls I’ve encountered on campus.

My Story

While I had always been active in youth group or campus ministry in high school, it wasn’t until my senior year that I started having a more personal relationship with Christ!   I am so grateful for the people who were in my life from the campus and youth group ministers to the chaplain we had on campus.  If it wasn’t for their influence, I would have never stepped foot on the Catholic Center in college or learned that I had the most perfect Father in Heaven who loved me with the deepest, most intimate love.

When I first went to college, I put my faith on the back burner to live out the “normal college life” of partying.  Lucky for me, the missionaries never stopped inviting me to things, even after my many many many no’s.  I had said yes to going to SEEK in 2017 after being asked four or five times and I went with a reluctant heart.  When I left for that conference in 2017 I did not know anyone, pretending to be asleep on the bus so I wouldn’t have to make new friends.  By the end of the week, I was walking away with some of my best friends to this day, a new found reminder of the love of my perfect Father, and an excitement to get more involved on campus.

When I came back I was immediately more involved with FOCUS, joining a weekly bible study, discipleship, going on mission trips and then leading a bible study my junior and senior year!  On a mission trip to Kolkata, India I realized that the Lord was inviting me to go on mission with FOCUS! Having an excitement and passion for inviting people on the college campus to know Jesus!  I never though that the Lord would send me to a campus like Carnegie Mellon University, especially coming from the University of South Alabama in my hometown!

My time as a missionary has lead to believe with unshakable confidence that the Lord desires everyone!!  There is an amazing quote from Catechism 2567 “God calls man first. Man may forget his Creator or hide far from his face; he may run after idols or accuse the deity of having abandoned him; yet the living and true God tirelessly calls each person to that mysterious encounter known as prayer. In prayer, the faithful God’s initiative of love always comes first; our own first step is always a response.  Another amazing quote is from CCC 851 “Indeed, God ‘desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth’; that is, God wills the salvation of everyone through the knowledge of the truth. Salvation is found in the truth. Those who obey the prompting of the Spirit of truth are already on the way of salvation. But the Church, to whom this truth has been entrusted, must go out to meet their desire, so as to bring them the truth. Because she believes in God’s universal plan of salvation, the Church must be missionary.”  I am fired up by the Holy Spirit to go out and bring souls to Christ! He desires everyone, everyone is destined for Heaven and there are so many souls out in the world that don’t know Christ!  It is the greatest gift, through my baptism to be a missionary for Jesus Christ!  Thank you for helping me serve!

Your Impact

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I’d be honored to share this mission with you.
