As a missionary, my greatest desire is to lead all students to Christ. My life has been transformed by Jesus and I want nothing more than to bring this joy to others and introduce them to the life-changing message of the Gospel. In His ministry on earth, Jesus humbled Himself to meet us on our level, taking on our humanity, and spent most of His time investing deeply in a few. I look to Jesus own example to find the best method of reaching the world. I’ve been constantly amazed by the different souls I’ve encountered on campus. 

My life was forever changed because of my friend Vince and his invitation to me to make Jesus Christ the center of my life. He came to Ole Miss as a missionary and he invited me into a deep friendship. He patiently walked with me and loved me, right where I was at. Vince was in a fraternity, and so was i, Pi Kappa Phi. He knew where I was coming from, he could really understand me and I trusted him in that. As he lived out his faith, I was trying to emulate him and do the same. I needed to walk with other people striving in their faith, because the reality is, we can’t do it alone. Vince helped me day by day, to give over my life little by little to Jesus. That led me to follow in his footsteps, and to apply and entrust my life to Jesus even more with FOCUS. 

Now as a missionary, I have come to see the impact of one small yes to the Lord and how that yes can have an eternal impact. The Christian journey is not easy. Since I began to pursue Christ intentionally there have been many obstacles, but in Christ I have strength. My mission now at USC, is to seek the lost. To encounter and instruct my fellow brothers and sisters in the faith. Journeying alongside men on the college campus has been an inspiration every day, and it continues to transform my own life. I became a missionary because I realized that I had been given the greatest gift I could ever receive, a chance at life in Him. I knew I had to give that gift away to others as well, because I knew what it was like to be without. 

In the book of Joshua, the Lord says “Be strong and of good courage; be not frightened, neither be dismayed; for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Jesus is calling, and we must respond. 

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I’ve been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus.
