I serve at Indiana University - Purdue University at Indianapolis. Proud to be a part of Team IUPUI! Catch me leading a Bible study discussion, joking around at IUPUI club meetings, or having a thought-provoking conversation with a student over some food.
For the longest time, my faith had no real significance for me even though I've been Catholic all my life. As a child I found it boring and not important to me. However, I was forced to answer life's tough questions for myself in the wake of my mother's three-year battle with cancer and subsequent passing during my high school years. "Who do I want to be? What am I living for? Who am I living for?" Inspired by my father's example, who was the first to find God in this time of trial, I decided to take the leap of faith and live a life for God -- not knowing what it would look like or what it would bring. My life has been one filled with truth, goodness, and beauty ever since. Not every day has been all smiles and cotton candy, of course, but I wake up every morning knowing who I am and that I am headed in the right direction. "Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." (Psalm 23:6)
I've met so many lifelong friends in FOCUS during my time in college who continually point me in the direction of Jesus. They have done more than I could ever repay them for in keeping my journey on the right track. I am blessed to receive the calling to work for FOCUS in this next chapter of my life and walk with college students together towards Him.
In the early stages of my faith journey, I didn't have a mentor or a good friend to help guide me as I was starting out. Having someone in whom I could confide and trust to point me in the right direction would have helped tremendously, and that is what I am excited to be for the students of IUPUI. As FOCUS missionaries, we rely on the spiritual and financial support of others to be able to do all of this in the first place. By your partnership with me, you have just as big of a part in my ministry as I do. You are part of God's providence for me out in the mission field. From the very bottom of my heart, thank you.
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on …
