Where I serve
I currently serve as the Love Life Program Manager, a national staff position, working remotely from Kingwood, Texas. As a national staff member, I get to serve our 700+ missionaries and thousands of student leaders on a daily basis. We are working to integrate the Gospel of Life into every aspect of evangelization, that we can build a Culture of Life starting with college campuses.
"The Gospel of God's love for man, the Gospel of the dignity of the person and the Gospel of life are a single and indivisible Gospel."
-Pope Saint John Paul II, Evangelium Vitae
As a student at The University of Texas at Austin, I met a FOCUS missionary who taught me how to pray and introduced me to the life-changing message of the Gospel. My experience of receiving the love of Christ paired with leading a bible study of young women inspired me to join staff with FOCUS. I served on campus at Northwestern University for one year, followed by two years at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. Towards the end of my second year at Vandy, I felt the Lord calling my heart to serve the mission of FOCUS in a different way: similar to St. Theresa of Calcutta, I felt a "call within a call." He grew my desire to share a pro-life worldview and serve not just a few students on campus, but over 700 missionaries and thousands of students.
I studied advertising in college and now one of my greatest passions is reaching our world, especially the youth, with the Gospel of Life and presenting it as something beautiful. I want people to know Christ and therefore see every moment through the lens of honoring the dignity of every human person. I want to see people loving each other and living life to the full!
"I came so that they might have life and have it more abundantly" -John 10:10
More recently, this pro-life mission has become a family mission. My husband Mike served as a missionary for a couple years with the Culture Project before we got married. He traveled, sharing the message of dignity at high schools and churches. He gave numerous talks about the value of life and chastity. We are both passionate about mission, life and love. It's no mistake this man is my husband. He now works as a youth minister, which is what brought us to Kingwood. Together, we've been blessed with a son, Eli, who we hope to raise with a missionary zeal as well.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I've been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus and beyond! Even as the manager of Love Life, I am still blessed to live on this complete reliance from God. If you are interested in partnering with me and my family, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I'd be honored to share this mission with you.
