Where I serve

I am really excited to be heading back for my Fourth year as a missionary and second year as Team Director at the University of Minnesota-Duluth! The Lord has blessed me with an incredible team of missionaries there, and I am excited to see the ways He wants to continue to transform this University! I've been working a lot with athletes there as part Varsity Catholic, FOCUS's Athlete Outreach, so please pray for the openness of the Coaches and Athletes to Jesus Christ!

A few of the great men of Duluth.

My Story

Every since I encountered Jesus Christ in 7th grade, I have desired to be a missionary. But in 7th grade, standing up in front of people and talking to them about Jesus was up there above “death” on my list of greatest fears. And so, I kept quiet, until my junior year of High School, when the Lord gave me the trust to stand up and be a leader in my high school and at my parish. I can only say that this new found zeal and trust was an incredible gift of God. This also gave me to the courage to follow the Lord’s call for me to enter Seminary and discern the priesthood. Seeking God’s will for my life, I spent 4 years at St. John Vianney College Seminary in St. Paul, MN. It was an incredible transforming 4 years, in which I fell more deeply in love with the Lord, grew as a man of virtue and as a leader, and experienced the Church in a new and beautiful way. During my last semester there, the spring of 2016, with the help of the formation staff, I discerned that the Lord wasn’t calling me to continue on in seminary formation. So, I asked Jesus, “What do you want for me now?” With the encouragement of a former-seminarian, now-FOCUS Missionary, I looked into serving with FOCUS. As I was praying about it, the Lord brought me back to that original desire of my heart: to be a missionary, to proclaim God’s word to the nations, to be a vessel of the Love of Jesus Christ. And so I said yes.

On the Sea of Galilee, helping lead a Focus pilgrimage with my brother, Fr. David, over Spring break 2019. It was an incredible experience of walking with Christ!

Your Impact

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. And so I ask for your prayers and your help as I seek to be the hands and feet of Christ. I really want these men and women to encounter the Love of Christ that has transformed my own life, so that it may transform theirs as well. But this won’t happen without the grace of the Holy Spirit and your prayers and support. Thank you and God Bless!
