Last year, the Lord has asked me to serve college students at Tulane University in New Orleans, Roll Wave!! This year my husband (Hunter, YAY) and I will be moving from NOLA to Dallas and I will be serving the students at the University of Dallas! God was so generous with me in college and I am grateful to be able to accompany students in their journey toward their ultimate love, God the Father. I can’t wait to encounter some beautiful souls and share the Gospel.

For my 22nd Birthday, one of my dearest friends gave me a coffee mug with a quote from Henri Nouwen that reads, Home is the center of my being where I can hear the voice that says: You are my Beloved, on you my favor rests. This quote is all about who God says we are. It wasn t until I encountered my home at the University Catholic Center at The University of Texas at Austin that I realized the depth of the intentional relationship Jesus desires for me and all His beloved children.

My first year at UT started out super scary! I missed my family and was anxious about meeting new people. I am a cradle Catholic, but I had my conversion of heart to Catholicism when I was struck with the fact that the Eucharist truly is God s body offered up for us. As Catholics, we have the gift of getting to receive who God said He is to His disciples, This is my Body, which is given up for you. Do this in remembrance of me. What beauty! Our God is so good to us.

So how did this conviction about the Eucharist being a gift, and God affirming me that I am His beloved daughter lead me to ultimately say yes to being His missionary? I said yes to FOCUS because I love the truth (God s Identity) and because when the truth is discovered it is meant to be shared and rejoiced in. After participating in a bible study, leading a bible study, and starting discipleship relationships with some of my best friends I realized that this is it. God truly wants to encounter us throughout relationships with others, through accountability, consolation, desolation, and periods of healing. FOCUS helped me realize that the Lord wants more of my time than an hour on Sunday. He desires my whole life, my whole heart. The truth should always be shared out of sheer love for the other. I want to love whoever is the other on campus for the next two years of mission life.
