Where I serve

God has called me to be a missionary at University of Iowa! Go Hawkeyes! I am blessed to be serving along side my teammates, Liz Foley, Kobe Eischeid and Luke Landiak. Jesus has transformed my life in many big and BEAUTIFUL ways. It would be a joy to tell you all about it! Come find me at Newman Catholic Student Center or reach me at (402) 547-6453.

My Story

After transitioning from high school to my freshman year of college, I was stripped away of many previous identities I had once found a great sense of pride in. As I acknowledged this, I knew I was eager to start to discover the person I was meant to be. With this hope in mind, I looked for this fulfillment in many of the wrong places—often finding myself lost in the “typical college culture” as I fell into the cracks of what it told me would be fulfilling.  My faith wasn’t a focal point in my life as I viewed it as more of an optional, backseat Sunday comfort. It wasn’t until I had been lead by two FOCUS missionaries that I had come to solely understand what it looks like to run towards a life of holiness—to become truly ALIVE in the Catholic faith. These women lived in such a way that I could not help but wonder and desire that for myself. Here’s the verdict: they were seeking out a personal relationship with Jesus!

It was through their invitation, authentic friendship and willingness to accept me just as I was, that I had come to know what it meant to be loved by the Lord.

As a missionary, my heart specifically burns for the lost, often reminding me of that lost freshman girl I was my first year of college. I have received the opportunity to walk with and further invest in the precious souls of students on campus—The souls that are searching for fulfillment in many different places, the ones who are longing for what it means to have an identity in the midst of the confusion and false promises within the constructs of our society, the ones who will leave a generational impact for families to come. These souls are worth fighting for.

I said “yes” to mission because of the undeniable impulse to share the Lord’s JOY and eternal reality with others —Ultimately, to spread the truth of the Gospel! There is much freedom that comes with seeking out a life of virtue and the friendship of Jesus Christ!

Let us all be awake in our faith. So much so that wherever we go, we are able to radiate the face of Christ by friendship and action.

Your Impact

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I've been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I'd be honored to share this mission with you.
