I have had the great honor of serving the students at Nicholls State University for the past four years + I am looking forward to a FIFTH! This university, located on the bayous of Thibodaux, Louisiana, is filled to the brim with Cajun culture. I am thankful for the great gift of consistency in my placement during my time with FOCUS because it has allowed me to create real and lasting relationships that Jesus has used to begin to transform the student body. Here's to year FIVE on the bayou! GEAUX COLONELS!!

While completing my undergrad at Texas State University I found myself looking for a place to belong and I found it first in the toxic culture associated with the college campus. All of the men + women around me were drinking excessively, partying a lot and entering into unchaste relationships. Everyone of them seemed to be living a life filled with joy, but none of these things were bringing me the joy they seemed to have found.
Only one semester into my time at Texas State I began to feel extremely isolated and depressed because the life I had been living was making me miserable. It was during that time that a student began inviting me to her small group Bible study, Mass, retreats, and eventually a FOCUS conference. It was through these events and Sacraments that I developed a relationship with the Lord and slowly began to change my habits from the toxic college culture, to one of prayer and good wholesome community.
It was at this FOCUS conference that I made the decision to be a disciple of Jesus and begin taking ownership for my own faith. I had a fire lit within me to do more for the students on my campus that seemed to be moving further and further away from the Lord everyday. I wanted everyone to know the truth, beauty and goodness that I had found in this life with Christ. So eventually, that lead me here!
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I've been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know the best way to reach you. I would love to schedule an appointment to speak with you more about FOCUS and our mission on college campuses. Thank you for your support and your prayers. It's an honor to share this mission with you.
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on …
