Where I serve

God has called me to serve at University of Maryland and OH BOY I am excited. I am a Northern Virginia native and the Potomac River is a cherished childhood stomping ground. I couldn't be more thrilled to cross it. You'll typically find me browsing bookstores, at the Catholic Student Center, or chasing ducks, squirrels, and dogs around campus with any students that will join me.  I have a pretty cool story about how Jesus captivated me and truly changed my life in college. I would love, LOVE to share it with you.

My Story

As a missionary, my greatest desire is to lead all students to Christ and allow them to encounter His deep and personal love for them. It is this very love of Christ that, when accepted humbly, becomes an all consuming and transformative fire in our souls. A FOCUS missionary at my alma mater, Virginia Tech (Go Hokies) introduced me to that very love my junior year. I had been searching my whole life for a love that consumed me. This led me to seek worth and honor in relationships and accomplishments. It was so easy to allow my friendships, activities, grades, and even romantic relationships consume my life. It wasn't until SEEK 2019, a large FOCUS conference, that I realized my true worth came simply from my identity as a beloved of God. This God knew my name, and His plan for my life is the only thing that will satisfy me and will bring me true joy. I spread my hands and told Him, "I don't trust you. But I want to trust your plan for me. I will let you love me. Help me love you." Giving  Jesus this "yes" changed my college experience, and giving Him the "yes" to bring Him and His love to the whole world changed my life.

Since then, Jesus has taken me for the ride of a lifetime. I truly want nothing more than to bring this joy to others and introduce them to the same life-changing message of the Gospel I encountered in college. In His ministry on earth, Jesus humbled Himself to meet us on our level, taking on our humanity, and spent most of His time investing deeply in a few. It is this model of spiritual multiplication, as seen in walking with the twelve apostles and sending them to "make disciples of all nations" (Mt 28:19), that I hope to find the best method of reaching the world.  For as these apostles intimately came to know Jesus and His teachings, they also enjoyed His friendship and that of their fellow Christians, and ultimately desired to teach the ends of the Earth the saving power of God. That is why I am a missionary with FOCUS - our mission adopts and reflects the method [divine intimacy, authentic Christian friendship, and conviction of spiritual multiplication] modeled by Jesus Christ.

Your Impact

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. What a truly beautiful gift to not be self-reliant but to be invited to more fully trust the Lord and His plan for me! I've been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. But I can't serve on campus alone.  If you desire to partner with me in this universal call holiness and mission, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I'd be honored to share this mission with you and to bring your heart with me wherever I go. For "where your treasure is, there your heart will also be" (Mt 6:21)
