Where I serve

I serve as a second-year FOCUS missionary at the University of Wisconsin in Madison! For information on the mission of FOCUS, check out our mission statement.

My Story

Jesus Christ has poured out His infinite mercy on my wounded heart during my young adult years, and I have been transformed ever since! I am forever grateful for how He romanced me away from a life of sin and into the joy He promises.

Even though I grew up in loving Catholic family, going away to the University of Colorado in Boulder (SKO BUFFS!) introduced a completely new set of challenges to my faith life.  I had personally accepted Jesus in high school, but the temptations of the world grew very difficult to maneuver since then. At the beginning of my sophomore year of college, many of the relationships I was in changed dramatically; I was forced to confront the reality of the damage I caused towards others and in my own heart. I hid from Jesus in shame and guilt, feeling absolutely unworthy to bring Him my brokenness. As these thoughts wrestled in my heart, a few key women in my sorority, a FOCUS missionary, and my family continued to compassionately care for me despite my sense of unworthiness. I couldn’t believe that these people could possibly still love me. How could it be?

...JESUS, that’s how! Through these interactions, Christ was present. In prayer, I learned that even in my darkest moments, He never stopped loving me for a second. This overwhelming mercy changed my heart! I began the journey towards true chastity and sacrificial love for the rest of my college years in discipleship, as president of my sorority, and leading a Bible study. Since then, I felt a tug on my heart to share this love and mercy with other college women like me. I desire for all young women to know that they are made strong, beautiful, loved, and worth dying for – even death on a cross – by their eternal Creator!

Your Impact

I am indebted to what FOCUS did – through Christ – for me when I was a college student. Thanks to your contributions, Christ is made known to the most doubtful, brokenhearted, and hopeless students on college campuses, igniting true joy and peace within them. This ministry would NOT be possible without you, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart! Because of you, young women like me can come to know their identity as daughters of the King!
