Where I serve
God has called me to serve college students at the University of Maryland, and I could not be more excited! Being from Northern Virginia, I've loved learning more about this side of the Potomac River. You'll typically find me hanging out at a local coffee shop, the Catholic Student Center on campus, or looking for new places to explore. I have a pretty cool story about how Jesus captivated my heart and changed my life while I was in college. I'd love to share it with you sometime!
As a missionary, my greatest desire is to lead students to Christ, and to help them know how loved they are by Him. It was the missionaries and my bible study leader from my time at George Mason University that did exactly that for me. While in college, I fell victim to the material things of this world, and a culture of "busy-ness" that I thought would bring me joy. I sought satisfaction in the groups I was involved in, the social scene, and the number of friends I had. It wasn't until I went on a FOCUS mission trip in May 2018, my second mission trip in college, that I realized the joy I experienced came from Christ alone. He was radiating through my true friends, and making Himself present every single day, even when I couldn't see. When I finally said "yes" to Jesus, allowing Him to be my guide, and promising to share Him with the whole world, the rest of my time in college was completely transformed.
Since then, my life has been radically evolved by Jesus and I want nothing more than to bring this real joy to others and introduce them to the life-changing message of the Gospel. In Jesus' ministry, he constantly humbled Himself to meet people where they were at. It was His desire to know others and invest in them, that brought along the twelve apostles, and the future of the Catholic Church. Can you imagine where we'd be without His care and investment in the people He met? That's exactly why I'm a missionary with FOCUS, where our mission is adopted straight from the work of Jesus Christ.
Jesus says, "the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few" (Matthew 9:37). He has given me this desire to go out and fulfill His Great Commission firsthand. He has called me to go out and help others to know Him so that they too may be missionary disciples of Christ.
Being a missionary, has truly been my dream come true! When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. The beauty of this mission and this faith, is that Jesus doesn't want me to rely on myself, but to rely on Him and to fully trust His plan. I've been blessed with the most amazing partners who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus, and who have helped this dream of mine become a reality by supporting me monthly. This support helps me be readily available to students, and fully devoted to the mission. That being said, this mission cannot be fulfilled by me alone. As I continue to serve on campus, I need your help!
I would love to connect with you, grab some coffee, or send you a quick email about how to become part of my mission here at Maryland. Let me know how I can reach you! It would be a blessing and an honor to share this mission with you!
God bless and GO TERPS!
