After serving for 2 years as a campus missionary at the University of Maryland, God has called me to stay with FOCUS and serve the students at the University of Tulsa! I am so excited to be on mission in Tulsa, OK, and encounter Jesus in all those that I meet. As Catholics we are called to spread the Gospel of Jesus to all, and I am incredibly excited to accompany students, and watch their lives transform as they discover the inheritance that awaits them when they truly pursue the heart of Jesus Christ.

I was blessed to grow up in San Antonio, TX  to a devout Catholic family that taught me the importance of attending mass regularly. I attended Texas A&M University (Whoop!) and moved to Fort Collins, CO soon after graduation. It was here that I first began to interact with FOCUS, and where I first truly came to know the person of Jesus Christ. I had been dreaming of moving to Colorado since I was a kid, and I had everything I ever wanted right at my fingertips. Great job, great friends, great skiing, and great beer!

But I wasn’t happy. In fact, the more things I had, the less satisfied I became.

By the grace of God, I joined a men’s bible study that changed my life, thanks in large part to content created by FOCUS. This was the first time when I truly understood that without Christ at the center of my life, I would continue to be unhappy. 

It took me 2 years of prayer and formation, but The Lord eventually revealed his desire for me to put him at the center of my life, and share the gospel with the world, to give everything up and follow him. The decision was clear – I was going to work with FOCUS, the ministry that is going to change the world, and teach college students to make sure they do not make the same mistakes I did. 

My hope is that through my story, young men will know what waits for them after college. My work as a campus missionary centers around sending young men into the world – formed in a way that they can change the world, and not the other way around. These men need to know that above all else, there is an inheritance for us waiting in heaven, and if they enter the professional world with Christ at the center of their lives, they will be blessed in more ways than they could ever imagine.

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission.
