Where I serve

God continues to call me to join Him on grand adventures; in the fall of 2015, He decided that adventure would take place in Texas. The Lord definitely called me out of my comfort zone, but as the saying goes "you were not made for comfort, you were made for greatness". So, there at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX, I served happily for 3 years. However, after Texas stole quite a bit of my heart, I felt a tug elsewhere. The Lord began calling me closer to home- to be a part of the New Evangelization in the Northeast and I rejoiced in that opportunity. So, this past year, I was given the great gift of being sent to Montclair State University in New Jersey where I return for another year! I look forward to all that the Lord has in store here for me, my team, and the students this coming year!

My Story

"God, infinitely perfect and blessed in himself, in a plan of sheer goodness freely created man to make him share in his own blessed life. For this reason, at every time and in every place, God draws close to man. He calls man to seek him, to know him, to love him with all his strength. He calls together all men, scattered and divided by sin, into the unity of his family, the Church. To accomplish this, when the fullness of time had come, God sent his Son as Redeemer and Savior. In his Son and through him, he invites men to become, in the Holy Spirit, his adopted children and thus heirs of his blessed life." (Catechism of the Catholic Church paragraph 1). This is The Good News! I cannot hear these words enough. We have been made for relationship with love Himself.

Growing up, I was fortunate enough to be raised in a household by parents who introduced my sisters and I to the Catholic faith. Mass was attended, prayers were routine, and God was real. I can look back on my life and say I was very blessed; I had a comfortable life. However, what I did not know was that God the Father had a plan for me that was far better than good or comfortable. This all changed when I went to Benedictine College. The Lord blessed me with a great friend in college who radiated joy like I had never seen. I wanted to imitate her-she lived life to the fullest even in moments of trial. I wanted that! What I found out soon into our friendship was that her life was a radiance of the love Christ had shown her. God worked wonders through her friendship with me and soon after I was falling in love with Christ and His Church in a new way! The joy that followed could not be contained; God asked me to radiate to others what I had first received from him. So following my graduation in 2015, I joined Fellowship of Catholic University Students to begin missionary work on campus. Looking back on the past four years, I cannot even imagine a better way to have used my time than as His missionary disciple and I rejoice that He has called me to this for a 5th year!

Your Impact

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to trust God completely with my life. I knew that He would place people in my life ready to join me in this adventure. By His providence, I rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me in His mission. I've been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you as I'd be honored to share this mission with you.
