Where I serve

Jesus has called me to serve at the University of South Dakota. GO YOTES! I am a first year missionary, and I am so excited to begin the full-time mission of bringing college students closer to Jesus! In the days leading up to placement day, I humbly asked Jesus to send me somewhere close to home with a super fun, holy, authentic team. Jesus has fully exceeded those specific desires of my heart by leading me only 5 hours from home (thanks Jesus for also making my mom happy) to Vermillion, SD alongside four teammates who are who are incredibly funny, holy, authentic, and completely on fire for the mission. Jesus has gone before me and is preparing a new home for me in SD. He knows what He is doing, I am so excited to meet all of the students that He will place in my life.

My Story

As a missionary, my greatest desire is to lead all students to Christ. However, this is not something that I have always desired. It wasn't until my time in college at the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND that I noticed this desire becoming stronger and felt Jesus inviting me to be His missionary in a radical way.

I grew up in small town MN where, although there were not many Catholics my age, I had a strong family and parish family who always encouraged me to grow in my Catholic faith. I attended countless camps/retreats/conferences during my middle school and high schools years, learning as much about my faith as I could. I began to realize that, no matter how much I learned about my faith, it wouldn't matter unless I developed a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through an intimate prayer life. I started to establish this relationship during my senior year of high school, and carried it with me well into college.

During my time in college, I found a solid group of friends (pictured below) who taught me how to love deeper than I could have ever imagined and held me accountable to prayer, helping me to grow daily in my relationship with Jesus. I also encountered so many people who were desperately in need of authentic friendships and waiting to begin their own relationship with Christ. However, the  temptations and distractions of the "college life" were getting into the way. My peers didn't have anyone to run toward Christ with, and I found myself suddenly desiring to be the one to run with them, to be their authentic friend. I began to notice this particular desire because it had become so strong, and I brought it to prayer to see what Jesus wanted me to do. It was in those quiet moments of prayer that I felt Jesus calling me to something radical; something that I never thought He would ask me to do. I felt Him asking me to become a FOCUS missionary...to become His missionary.

Your Impact

I want to get to heaven, and I want to bring as many people with me as possible! There are so many people in my life who have who have played a role in leading me closer to Jesus, and I wouldn't have been able to say yes to this mission without their impact on my life. When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. If you feel Jesus asking you to give in a way that supports this mission, don't be afraid to say YES. Please let me know of the best way to reach you, and I would love to schedule a time to meet with you to talk more about how you can become a part of this mission. It would be an honor to share this mission with you!
