Where I serve
I am in my 7th year as a FOCUS Missionary. For three years I served college students on campus at the University of Illinois, Ave Maria University and Texas A&M University. Now, I work in the national headquarters in Denver helping organize and lead FOCUS' international and domestic mission trips. This role combines my passion for international mission, my love for administration and travel, and my desire to serve both college students and the poor around the world! I am very excited to continue to serve the mission in this way.
In 2007, on a semester abroad, I was faced with a choice. It became apparent that I was living a double life: one half of me was very much of the world, and the other half was a watered-down version of a faithful Roman Catholic. In a moment of brutal reality, I knew I could not continue to exist under both banners - I must choose one.
I chose Jesus.
I chose, in spite of the challenges, the growing pains, and the struggles, to follow the Lord, making a commitment to get back up and try again each time I fall. Ultimately, through this commitment, I have found a joy beyond the pleasures of the world, and a peace beyond all telling, living in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church. The example and encouragement of three women who worked on campus were instrumental in my own choice. Serving as a FOCUS missionary, I strive to be a voice of hope and encouragement for others who are at the same crossroads.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I've been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I served on campus and now in the Missions department. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I'd be honored to share this mission with you.
