Where I serve
I am so excited to lead my team to serve
this campus of about 17,000 undergradute students in the Windy City with my
four teammates. The University of Illinois-Chicago is mostly a commuter campus, so we have a lot of work ahead of us,
but with Christ, all things are possible. I'm excited for the adventure that
lies ahead and all that God has in store for me, my team, and my students!
To quote St. John Paul
II, "Life with Christ is a wonderful adventure," and mine has been no
different. My whole life I knew God existed, but I always felt like love had to
be earned and that I had to work for it. It wasn't until my senior year of high
school on a Kairos retreat that I encountered His unconditional, personal love
for me that changed everything. I was able to leave behind a life of searching
for love in all the wrong places, because I knew that Love Himself has been
searching for me my whole life.
That zeal that came
from realizing God's love for me might have fizzled out when I got to college
if it weren't for Emily, a FOCUS missionary at the University of
Nebraska-Lincoln. Emily took the time to invest in me, invite me to a Bible
study, teach me how to pray, and equip me to help others encounter the same
love that changed my life. Now, I am so excited to be able to do the same for
others and bring them into a life-changing relationship with Christ.
When I answered the
call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial
support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I've been blessed
with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus.
If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way
to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I'd be honored to share this
mission with you.
