Where I serve

From the Midwest to the West Coast, the Lord has called me to the University of California, Berkeley to walk with students as they encounter Jesus Christ! I'm very excited to branch out of my comfort zone, having attended and previously served at small Catholic universities and now being at a prestigious public institution. I'm excited to dive into the diversity that exists in the town of Berkeley and dive deeper with students into the love of the Father!

My Story

I grew up in Zionsville, IN, a small suburb just northwest of Indianapolis. Before going off to college, I attended Mass every Sunday; I attended and led many retreats, because those were the right things to do. These practices didn't stick as I attended St. Louis University upon graduating from Zionsville Community High School. It was there that I joined a fraternity, Alpha Delta Gamma (AΔΓ), and dove into the fraternity lifestyle. It was in the midst of being unfulfilled by the fraternity lifestyle that I felt the call to go to seminary. For the past three years I had been studying for the Diocese of Lafayette-in-Indiana at St. John Vianney College Seminary in St. Paul, MN. During my time in seminary, I grew so much and learned so much about myself. It is this experience that has led me to discern serving as a FOCUS missionary.

Throughout my time in seminary, I have learned how many things I cling on to instead of Christ. I have started to learned how detach from mediocrity and the things of this world and live life to the full with God as my source. My hope, in serving with FOCUS, is to relay this message of magnanimity and a life of self-giving to college students, who are told day in and day out that they must life selfishly. The only way for one to live a life of self-giving is to live a life in Christ, who in every action served another. "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full" (John 10:10). Every person on our college campuses desires to live life to its fullest. My prayer is that every person I encounter sees that a life lived in Christ "may have life, and have it to the full."

Your Impact

This mission is not just FOCUS’s mission, but also the mission of all the faithful. I would love for you to join in this mission with me. The most crucial way you can join the mission is to pray for me that I may be open to being God’s instrument and that the students may have open hearts to hear God’s invitation to living a life in Christ. This mission also needs funds in order for it to go on. Towards the top of this page is a link to help financial support my mission. A monthly donation is the best way to continue to be a part of the mission as we are called, not to give of ourselves once, but constantly giving ourselves to another. Thank you for all of your spiritual and financial support. The mission could not go on without you.
