From our main offices in Denver, the Lord has called me to serve with the FOCUS Formation Team - specifically as the Overall Lead for New Staff Training! Every year, FOCUS hires hundreds of new missionaries who are ready to go out to serve. But first, we bring them together for a few weeks of the summer to grow in their relationship with the Lord and to equip them to go and make disciples. Throughout the year, I manage numerous projects that all culminate in one, big, high-impact event that sets these missionaries into motion for the New Evangelization.
When I was in high school, I had a radical encounter with God's love through the Mass. I carried that experience with me into college, but it slowly faded as I got more involved in sorority life, residence life, and even student senate. I remained faithful to the Church, but I got caught up in the busyness of being a "successful student." In my last year of college, I led a bible study of freshmen ladies, and it changed how I viewed my role in the success of God's plan of reaching souls for His Kingdom. I was made to be His instrument. Instead of trying to do work for Him, I was able to let Him do His work through me. In four years on campus at three different universities with very different cultures, this has always rung true. It can be true for all missionaries and students as well. This is exactly why FOCUS exists: to build relationships with students and introduce them to Jesus Christ and his Church, empowering them to do the same for others.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I've been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus and now at the Denver Support Center. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you. I'd be honored to share this mission with you!
