Where I serve
My mission is to be salt and light for the earth by living a relationship-oriented life outside of my comfort zone. I am a firm believer in the power of human relationships in any environment and purposefully invest in people to make dreams a reality. Praise God that through FOCUS I get to grow closer to Christ through the students and teammates I interact with on a daily basis. As a missionary, my greatest desire is to lead all students to Christ and I am so thankful to live out that mission with my team at Benedictine College!
For a number of years, I was drawn to the idea of following an unconventional path after graduation but struggled to explain this desire to those around me. As friends were exploring the career fair, I was spending more and more time in adoration, reading good books, and investing in relationships. With less rigid class hours and more flex time in my schedule, I began to explore this space in my life where I could live at a slower pace than I had before. It was unnerving and at times uncomfortable, but it led to depth and honesty in relationships that I have craved. Unbeknownst to me, my life from the outside looked very similar to the structure of mission life, which I found so life-giving. During Bible study one day, my friend turned to me and invited me to consider FOCUS. That moment sparked a desire that I was surprised to discover. I want to be challenged to live outside of my comfort zone by sharing the Gospel through the cultivation of meaningful relationships. The thought of committing my life to investing deeply in a few and teaching them to do the same for others, brings me immense joy. Seeing the correlation between my desires and the opportunities FOCUS presents is a profound grace. God wants us all to be saints, and I believe this is where the Lord is calling me to become the-best-version-of-myself. The greatest thing I can do is be faithful to that.
When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I've been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I'd be honored to share this mission with you.
