Where I serve

God has called me to serve college students at University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles. I have a pretty cool story about how Jesus has changed my life -- I think you should hear it sometime! Come find me and I'd love to share it with you. :)

My Story

My journey started at Colorado State University - Fort Collins where I first encountered FOCUS at St. John XXIII. I was lead towards Christ and taught a few steps to having a personal relationship Him by a student who was invested in by a missionary. This is the discipleship model that FOCUS desires to create as Jesus invested in a few, whom went out and also invested in a few. Jesus tended to the brokenhearted and befriended them by sharing the Love of God the Father. I was also shown positive role models and a beautiful community which helped me to have a home away from home. I was establishing authentic friendships around the community in which I felt seen and loved which I was not finding on campus. For the first time, I chose to practice the Catholic faith instead of my parents taking me to church. I began to see how many other young adults were also desiring to be seen and loved and I felt the calling to invest in others.

I received my Bachelors in Engineering and struggled through school. I desire to encounter females who are longing for something more, but especially those in STEM because it can be tempting to feel alone and to be discouraged. I hope to be a beacon of Christs light and share the tools that helped me to turn the sufferings of school into joy!

In a recent study published by the Wall Street Journal, nearly two-thirds of college students report struggling with anxiety and lack of meaning. This unfortunate reality is a perfect opportunity to share the Gospel with these students just as Jesus did. These small encounters with students can hopefully bring students the beacon of hope and love they are desiring. Almost 80% of Catholics who leave the faith will do so before they are 24 years old. This is such a crucial time for young adults between the ages of 18-24 because they are making life altering decisions such as their degree, career, potential spouse, etc. If these decisions are made with better morals and Christ at the center, it can be completely life altering. Through the Grace of God, I desire to share the Gospel with as many students as I can at USC.

As a missionary, my greatest desire is to lead all students to Christ, especially those who do not know Him. My life has been completely transformed by Jesus especially since the beginning of college when someone choose to help lead me. I desire to show this authentic joy to others and introduce them to the life-changing message of the Gospel. Once these students begin to trust and build a friendship with us, we invite them into bible studies to hopefully form people to have hearts, minds, and habits of joyful, disciplined followers of Jesus. As this progresses and they continue to experience the Love of God, we teach them how to lead bible studies and to invite others into the life of Christ. In His ministry on earth, Jesus humbled Himself to meet us on our level, taking on our humanity, and spent most of His time investing deeply in a few. I look to Jesus’ own example to find the best method of reaching the world. I've been constantly amazed by the different souls I've encountered on campus.

Your Impact

When I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely fully on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. I've been blessed with the most amazing people who have journeyed with me as I serve on campus. If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I'd be honored to share this mission with you.
