"... Run so as to win ..."
God has called me to serve college students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign ("ILL-INI"). As an alum of the Greek community at Nebraska, I have experienced and understand God's desire to make right the fraternity system and lead righteous men to His Most Sacred Heart. I look forward to sharing the love of God with the community at Illinois and helping young men to seek the greatest good in life, Jesus Christ and His mission for the world!
Growing up, I knew who Jesus was and knew He had died for my sins, but I did not fully understand the abundance of life He offered me through this sacrifice. Upon entering college at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln ("GO BIG RED") I joined FarmHouse fraternity and excelled in academics, involvement, and social life. I was surrounded by tenacious men who always competed for first in grades among fraternities, raised tens of thousands of dollars for philanthropic causes, and were the "gentleman" of the Greek community. During all this worldly pursuit, my faith slowly faded to the background as God was not my priority.
Eventually, this pursuit of what I had deemed "happiness" became fruitless and I hit a dead end in which I saw no hope of joy nor pursuit of passion. Our great God used my FarmHouse brother to invite me to a weekend retreat during which Jesus captured my lost heart. Immediately after, He blessed me again with an incredible bible study which was led by a former FarmHouse man who was now in campus ministry. This community of men became my stronghold and my best friends as our motto became, "TGIBSW" (Thank God It's Bible Study Wednesday)!
FarmHouse led me to God, to my fiancé (Megan pictured above), and eventually home to His beautiful Church founded upon the greatest brotherhood to ever exist, Jesus' apostles. The fraternity and sorority systems were established for great goods, but over the years many houses have become broken within. These organizations founded upon virtue and mentorship house many lonely and hurting souls. I have seen the impact a single man can make inside of these brotherhoods and know God will use a few to save many.
As I answered the call to join FOCUS, I made the decision to rely on the spiritual and financial support of mission partners to help me through this mission. As stated by Paul in his letter to the Philippians, "Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit." I desire for as many as possible to go on mission with me through financial giving and prayers, so their generosity may be blessed and used greatly by our loving Father.
If you are interested in partnering with me, please let me know of the best way to reach you and I will schedule an appointment. I'd be honored to sit down with you to learn more about your story, share some of mine, and work together in this mission with you.
We encounter God in an intimate relationship through daily prayer, the sacraments and the Scriptures.
By building genuine friendships, we meet students on a deeper level.
We teach students how to share the gospel, who in turn teach other students how to pass it on …
